The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, ensuring competitive bids while maintaining profitability. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients.
- Project Estimation & Cost Analysis: Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil and commercial construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Blueprint & Specification Review: Analyze architectural and engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project scopes to develop precise estimates.
- Bid Preparation: Compile bid proposals, including takeoffs, scope clarifications, and pricing strategies, ensuring alignment with client requirements and market trends.
- Subcontractor & Supplier Coordination: Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and material suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications.
- Risk Assessment: Identify project risks, assess potential cost impacts, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Value Engineering: Provide recommendations for cost-saving alternatives and innovative construction methods without compromising quality.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure project estimates are accurate and feasible.
- Market & Industry Research: Stay updated on material costs, labor rates, and industry trends to refine estimating techniques and ensure competitive pricing.

- Infrastructure Development: Roads, bridges, highways, tunnels, and interchanges.
- Utilities & Site Development: Water and sewer systems, stormwater management, underground utilities, grading, and site preparation.
- Public Works Projects: Government buildings, parks, airports, and municipal facilities.
- Heavy Civil & Industrial: Rail systems, dams, power plants, and large-scale earthworks.
- Office Buildings & Corporate Headquarters: Multi-story office buildings, business parks, and mixed-use developments.
- Retail & Hospitality: Shopping centers, restaurants, hotels, and entertainment venues.
- Healthcare Facilities: Hospitals, medical offices, clinics, and assisted living facilities.
- Educational Institutions: Schools, universities, research centers, and student housing.
- Industrial & Warehouse Facilities: Manufacturing plants, distribution centers, and storage facilities.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in civil or commercial construction estimating.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, Sage Estimating) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost structures.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze blueprints, contracts, and technical specifications to produce accurate estimates.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in measurements, calculations, and cost analysis.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for client and contractor interactions.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Capable of identifying project challenges and proposing effective solutions.
